Let us consider Arnold, child of God. Around the age of thirteen, Arnold frequently experienced what he called the hopelessness of forever. God seems especially elusive to those who are intellectually hopeful of Creation's existence but lack any experience with which to confirm Him. The intellectually hopeful and experientially uncertain suffer the most from what they consider to be an elusive God.
