Belief in a God of Creation often is accompanied by belief in a religion that tells you how your religion's God expects you to behave. But what are Creation's expectations for our lives? Are those expectations defined only by the religious and political edicts you choose to follow? Or are there moral expectations that benefit all of humankind?
Has Creation really established any principles of morality for the species we call human beings. If so, has Creation communicated these principles to us? Does the moral code we claim, define, ignore, and redefine come from the Energy we call God or are they simply the words of religious man and political man--the two often being the same?
Has Creation really established definitive moral imperatives for the human species such that if we violate them we suffer the Pain Of Mortal Being in spite of our religious beliefs, our political alignment, our social success or our accomplishments?
Some say we are cursed and others say we are blessed with what men call free will. As a companion to free will, we are also bless and cursed with an entity some men call conscience. Most of us inherently know what is naturally right and wrong. Most of us know how evil and abhorrent verbal, social, and physical violence against another human being is. It is apparent that Creation chose not to let us grope in moral ambiguity while exercising free will. Knowing the difference between right and wrong was not meant to be guess work.
Creation seemingly chose to provide the human species with (choose one--a conscience, instinct, genetic imprint) to guide humanity to behavior that is not morally reprehensible. Or perhaps Creation chose to speak to human beings in a quiet way. Whatever method Creation chose, the existence of a moral imperative for human beings seems evident.
Our moral imperatives are obvious to most of humanity. We may elect to ignore them, rationalize them to the point of extinction, or be so pathologically damaged that a moral imperative makes no sense to us, thereby making us morally evil. But most of us understand morality that benefits the entire span of the human race.
And most of us try to live by a morality that benefits all members of the human race. We understand a true morality up to the point that we become so tormented, angry, and morally bankrupt that only aggressive predatory evil seems right.
Creation may quietly speaks to us or Creation may have employed a genetic imprint to remind us of our moral imperatives. Nevertheless, men and women have preached their brand of their God's morality to anyone who would listen or who could be forced to listen.
And while it is true that religious dogma and political posturing are more times than not implored for the disguised purpose of political power and social control, Creation's legitimate messengers do not deliver messages that are antithetical to the need for civility and cooperation among humans and the life we share on the planet we call Earth.
When we understand that part of human creation and Creation's need for human existence; human civility; human cooperation; and choose not to ignore it, we will never again accede to the dictates of the charlatan, the false messenger, and the false prophet.
More importantly, when we understand the need for human existence, human civility, and human cooperation we do not willingly accede to the posturing and rants of dictators and tyrants. Nor do we willingly follow the insane proclamations from the lips of politicians, ministers, false prophets, and preachers who falsely claim Him.
When we understand the real meaning of morality and seriously try to be a truly moral human being, we will not beat the drums for racism, sexism, misogyny, and violence against the minority. Nor do we support predatory politicians who have a love affair with the immoral politics of war, hate, religion, greed, ignorance, and fear.
Creation does not view this immoral behavior kindly. No matter how you otherwise may perceive your moral superiority, a love affair with the religious politics of war, hate, greed, ignorance, and fear is immoral.
Will you mortally or eternally pay the price for living a life based on a hypocritical morality? What does your religion say? What does your religion say your God says. What does your conscience or genetic imprint say? What do you say?
